Iggy Pop Contributes To New Pirate-Themed Album, Coming February 19th

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp has drafted Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Patti Smith, Courtney Love, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, and more for an upcoming 36-song compilation album featuring covers of traditional pirate songs. The two-disc collection, Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, is a sequel to 2006’s Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, which Depp put together with record producer Hal Willner and Pirates director Gore Verbinski. Next year’s entry will wash ashore on February 19 via ANTI-, which also released the original Rogue’s Gallery.
