Iggy Pop will join director Jim Jarmusch for a Q&A following an advance screening of Gimme Danger on Oct. 25 at Detroit Film Theatre in the Detroit Institute of Arts. Tickets are $15 and are available now at DIA.org, at the DFT box office or by phone at (313) 833-4005. Gimme Danger will begin its regular DFT run in conjunction with the film’s Oct. 28 national premiere, with showings also on Oct. 29 and 30, then again Nov. 4-6.

Additionally, Iggy will join Michigan native Don Was on Oct. 22 at Detroit’s Majestic Theatre to share stories and insights into their bodies of work. The event will be filmed for the Living Histories series, a collaboration between the Grammy Foundation and Iron Mountain. Tickets are $35 and on sale now.

Nominations have been announced for the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association’s inaugural Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards, which will be held November 3 at BRIC in Brooklyn. Among the nominees, Gimme Danger, the Iggy and the Stooges documentary directed by Jim Jarmusch, has been nominated for Best Music Documentary. In addition, as part of the gala awards ceremony, the BFCA and BTJA also will also be honoring this year’s Most Compelling Living Subject of a Documentary. Honorees are as follows:

Gimme Danger, the new Iggy and the Stooges documentary by director Jim Jarmusch, will open in U.S. movie theaters on October 28th.

The film first premiered at Cannes in May, and has additional festival debuts coming at the Austin Film Festival, Miami Film Festival GEMS Showcase, and Vancouver International Film Festival, along with screenings and a Q&A with Iggy Pop and Jim Jarmusch on October 1st at the New York Film Festival.

The new documentary by filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, Gimme Danger, looks back on the legacy of Iggy Pop and the Stooges. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last week and will get its New York City premiere on October 28th with a Los Angeles debut to follow November 4th.

The clip premiering at Rolling Stone shows Pop’s infamous “peanut butter incident” in Cincinnati in June 1970 when he climbed atop the audience’s hands and smeared the condiment all over his chest and whisked it into the crowd during an extended performance of the Fun House rager “1970.”

The New York Film Festival’s Special Events section will feature the U.S. premiere of Gimme Danger, a documentary chronicling the history of legendary proto-punk band The Stooges. Director Jim Jarmusch and Stooges front man Iggy Pop will appear in person for the screening.

Gimme Danger, the Iggy and the Stooges documentary directed by Jim Jarmusch, will make its Florida premiere at the Miami Film Festival 2016 GEMS showcase, which will run Oct. 13-16 at Miami Dade College’s Tower Theater. Vouchers for the film are now on sale.

TOTAL CHAOS: The Story of The Stooges / As Told by Iggy Pop, to be published by Third Man Books, has been scheduled for release on November 17, Billboard reports. The book, first announced in April, will mark the first time the story of the Stooges has been told entirely in Pop’s own words.
