Iggy And The Stooges At Riot Fest 2012

If you missed Iggy and the Stooges headlining Riot Fest this weekend, Time Out Chicago has published a rave review of the band’s set! Here’s an excerpt:

Iggy Pop’s entire persona, nay, his existence as a performer is about making you as uncomfortable as possible. A friend of mine told me that Iggy was freaking him out a bit during “I Wanna Be Your Dog.” I told him that was the point. Iggy wins again. Your confusion is his victory, his purpose, and his legacy as the greatest frontman of all time.

Video From Eleven Paris Fashion Shoot

It’s not every day that you see a rock & roll legend and one of today’s most sought-after “it girls” strolling along the pavement in the Paris neighborhood of Bastille. And it’s even more unusual to see these two characters poking their tongues at each other, dressing together and bickering like little children. But this is exactly what Eleven Paris made happen during the shoot for its Fall/Winter 2012 campaign, with Iggy Pop and British super model Daisy Lowe. Here’s video from their photo shoot for the French label’s collection.

Important Announcement Regarding Sofia Rocks

With utmost regret Iggy and the Stooges have to cancel the show at Sofia Rocks 2012. The foot injury Iggy sustained last year had reoccured during the performance in Hungary and doctors advised to take longer recuperation time between shows. This decision is not an easy one and as much as The Stooges would love to rock Sofia, it would put Iggy’s health in jeopardy. Would love to come next year and make it up to you.

Iggy Pop Not Ready To Give Up The Carnal Life – The New York Times Interview

I saw you perform in Portland, Me., back in the ’80s when you opened for the Pretenders. I had never experienced anything like it. You actually licked my hand.

I was just really happy to be in Maine — I’m a travel enthusiast. And I’m glad I got away with a lick. But those were pretty mainstream shows. It was an introduction to another part of the American public. I remember there was one gig on that tour at Penn State, and it looked just like “Children of the Corn” — these penetrating blue Anglo-Saxon eyes staring at me from beneath identical corncob-colored crew cuts.
