‘Download For Good’ Album, Featuring Iggy Pop, Now On iTunes!
The album “Download For Good: Music That Changes The World,” which benefits the David Lynch Foundation, is now available on iTunes. The 33-track compilation includes Iggy Pop’s cover of “Milk Cow Blues,” along with live cuts, remixes, original songs and covers by Au Revoir Simone, Peter Gabriel, Moby, Alanis Morissette, Neon Trees, Arrested Development, Nancy Sinatra, Ozomatli, Maroon 5 and more.
In an interview, Iggy said, “I knew David was a good blues singer and a free spirit, so I thought I’d record a blues song, especially for this record. This is just the way I play for my own pleasure, around the house. I think it flowed out really well. I mean, I could feel the TM seeping in.”
The David Lynch Foundation brings the stress-reducing, health-promoting benefits of Transcendental Meditation to underserved populations, including at-risk inner city youth and veterans with post traumatic stress disorder, as well as American Indians, the homeless and prisoners. To date, DLF has provided scholarships for about 150,000 adults and students to learn to meditate, eliminating the traumatic stress that undermines academic achievement and fuels substance abuse and violent behavior.
